How often do I need to schedule routine dental visits?

Routine dental care is necessary for patients of all ages and dental backgrounds, and we recommend that patients visit our office at least twice per year, regardless of how well they take care of their teeth at home. This is because dental issues can develop even if you are taking great care of your teeth and gums, and the sooner we can diagnose dental issues and provide treatment, the better. Teeth cleanings also remove built-up plaque from hard-to-brush areas, which reduces your chances of developing tooth decay and gum disease.

Do teeth cleanings hurt?

Some patients have teeth and/or gums that are more on the sensitive side, but professional teeth cleanings should not be overly painful. If you know that your smile is sensitive, please let our team know, and we will do the best we can to be as gentle and careful as possible. If you have recently developed tooth sensitivity or it has recently become significantly worse, that can be a sign that a larger issue is present, and you should let us know if that is the case as well. We always want your experiences with us to be as comfortable and relaxed as they can be.

Are routine dental visits covered by insurance?

Most dental insurance plans completely cover the cost of routine dental cleanings and exams or they cover the majority of the cost. We are an insurance-friendly dental office, and we also accept FSAs, HSAs, and payment plans through CareCredit®. If you are new to our office, you can also take advantage of our new patient special and receive a discounted dental exam, cleaning, and X-rays during your first visit. If you would like more information or you have a question for our team, we recommend contacting our office or visiting our financial page.
